Shipping Policy
Where We Ship
We ship to the 48 Continental States, Alaska and Hawaii. For shipment to Alaska and Hawaii, an additional charge will apply. We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses. All shipments must be to a physical delivery address.
Processing & Transit Times
Orders are generally shipping with 2 business days of when the order was placed. Orders are not processed on Saturdays, Sundays or the following Federal Holidays: New Year’s Eve, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day After Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Shipments may be limited the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
All items ship from our shoppe here in Cranford, New Jersey (07016). Please note that UPS Ground transit to the West Coast can take up to a full week or more. Please plan accordingly.

Shipping Options & Cutoff Times
Shipping options are provided at the time of checkout. We offer UPS Ground Service, Second Day, and Next Day Delivery.
To qualify for same-day processing on expedited orders, orders must be received by 9:00 AM EST, Monday through Thursday (excluding holidays).
Note: Orders placed on Friday will be delivered on Monday if Next Day Delivery was selected, or on Tuesday if Second Day Delivery was selected. We do not offer Saturday delivery options.
Warm Weather & Protective Shipping
During the summer months (May through September), overnight shipping is highly recommended for orders containing chocolate to prevent melting. Non-chocolate candy can also be sensitive to excessive heat or sun exposure.
Shipping at Customer's Risk: Carmela's Sweet Shoppe is not responsible for products damaged in transit due to weather conditions, nor are we responsible for products that were delivered but sat on a hot porch or in the sun all day.
Weather Holds: On extremely warm days, Carmela's Sweet Shoppe reserves the right to hold the shipment of products on a Thursday or Friday until a Monday or Tuesday of the following week to prevent the possibility of the product sitting in our carrier's warm shipping docks or warehouses over the weekend.
Delivery Guarantees & Exceptions
Our Promise: Delivery is guaranteed when addresses are correct and current. However, Carmela's Sweet Shoppe cannot be responsible for incorrect shipping addresses. We will not issue a refund for packages refused by the recipient, addresses that were inputted incorrectly or incomplete when checking out, or melted products.
Holiday Delivery: We will not guarantee delivery of orders by a recognized holiday or occasion. Please allow enough time for your product to ship to its destination.
Carrier Delays: Though UPS is an extremely reliable shipping agent, there are times when they are unable to provide on-time delivery. Some delivery locations do not have Next Day service availability. In such cases, if you selected Next Day service, we will ship via UPS Next Day, but we are not responsible for overnight delivery if the service is not available to your location.
Carmela's Sweet Shoppe will not be responsible for delays caused by events or incidents beyond our or our carrier's control, including but not limited to: extreme weather conditions, national emergencies, unavailability or refusal to accept packages, natural disasters, civil unrest, labor disputes, and disruptions in transportation networks. We ask for your patience during these times and promise to get your order to its destination as soon as possible.
